1. Summary
1.1. The remaining balance of the budget available for grants to voluntary organisations in 2004/05 is £136,245 after allocating for the grants approved at the last decision day, commitments made in previous years and sums earmarked for specific purposes.
1.2. This allows for a contributions from this budget of £7,500 in 2004/05 and, subject to a satisfactory report being submitted by the Director of Recreation and Heritage to this meeting in September 2005, a further £7,500 in 2005/06 towards a grant of £30,000 awarded to the Solent Peoples Theatre for its "Critical Engagement Democracy Project 2005/07", approved by the Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage on 18 November 2004.
1.3. The following decisions are sought:
(i) That the budget position and the contributions to the Recreation and Heritage budget of £7,500 in 2004/05 and, subject to a satisfactory report being submitted by the Director of Recreation and Heritage to this meeting in September 2005, a further £7,500 in 2005/06 be approved.
(ii) That approval be given to grants being awarded to voluntary organisations as listed below:-
