Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given to:

1. The insurance arrangements put in place when appointing consultants to complete asbestos surveys throughout the County Council's built estate to meet the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2002.

2. Additional allocations from NDS Condition Fund and capital repairs budget as set out in the report to the Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel on 30 November

3. To negotiate with preferred specialists to undertake recladding work at Brookfield and Mountbatten Schools

Reason(s)

2.1

To enable a range of consultants to be appointed to complete asbestos surveys and work to proceed associated with NDS Condition and capital repairs.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 2 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy - Stewardship of the Environment and Improving Services by providing funds to improve premises and ensure the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2002 are met.
