1.1 The following decision is sought:

That a grant of £1,300 be awarded to Kyla Flegg from Andover towards her

participation in a conservation project in Belize in January 2005.

2 Reason(s):

Kyla (19) has been chosen to participate in a "Trekforce" expedition to Belize next year and is seeking a grant from the County Council to go towards the total cost of this trip, which is estimated to be £3,700. So far, she has managed to raise £2,400 towards her expenses.

During her three-month stay in Belize, Kyla will be replanting and maintaining parts of the jungle eco-system, teaching in a local school and helping local villagers improve their quality of life.

This grant would support Aim 1 of the Corporate Strategy by maximising life opportunities.
