Connecting Communities Rowner- to ensure the continued success of the Rowner Access Point (RAP),which provides access to project workers. It has become the focal point for community activity in Rowner, providing help in accessing the necessary help, advice and information to develop community activities. It also provides assistance to individuals through CAB, benefits, housing and health agencies. RAP also provides IT training opportunities for young and older residents. New initiatives for the future include working in partnership with St Vincent College to provide basic English sessions for residents who have English as a second language, recruitment and training for volunteers to man the RAP, and provision of child care in partnership with Sure Start and Gosport Development Trust.

The project will specifically target its attention on developing activities and projects that focus on the needs of young people, access to training and jobs.

Total cost of the project per annum is £60,000, with £32,500 from SRB6 being secured, this leaves £27,500 outstanding per year.

The project will commence in April 2005 and finish March 2007.
