Contact: Jenny Heath, ext 7402
Summary
The following decisions are sought:
· That Cabinet consider the results in the half year performance report and identify key issues or achievements which require further consideration.
· That the revision of the Corporate Strategy in 2005/06 takes account of the lessons learnt through this first attempt at regular monitoring.
· That the process for reporting corporate performance is refined to enable future reports to be made publicly available.
Reasons for the recommendations
Development of performance management and reporting is part of the response to the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (Corporate Assessment) recommendations made in 2002. It therefore has direct relevance to the Corporate Strategy aim of `Improving Services' and the targets for `improving our performance', while also underpinning improvement in all areas of service which contribute to the Corporate Strategy.
