1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That the attached Project Appraisal for the implementation of various traffic management features along the A323 Ash Road and High Street, Aldershot, as detailed on page 4 of the report, at an estimated cost of £250,000, be approved.

2. Reason

2.1 This decision supports Aim 2 (Stewardship of the Environment) and Aim 4 (Building Strong and Safe Communities) of the Corporate Strategy by providing sustainable transport alternatives, and safer community facilities.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected

3.1 Other options have been considered, such as reducing the attractiveness of the Ash Road into Lower Farnham Road route by banning right hand turns, but these were discarded due to the expected negative impacts of the associated traffic flow in the area.
