1. Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought:

i) That the current developments in the Library Service be noted.

ii) That the proposed pattern for request charges be agreed.

2. Reason

2.1 The proposed pattern for request service charges will encourage more people to use the Library Service.

2.2 The report is intended to assist meeting Aim 5 of the Corporate Strategy - Improving Services, and describes a range of current activities aimed at improving the library service provided to the general public and seeks approval for a variation in the fees charged for the request service.
