1. Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought - that the Executive Member:

    i. Approves the changes in structure and management arrangements identified in this report.

    ii. Supports the setting up of a Special Members' Panel after the May 2005 County Council elections to look in detail at the Review recommendations and report back to the Policy Review Committee as soon as possible

2. Reason

2.1 This decision will enable the County Council's Arts Service to:

        · Implement key recommendations emerging from the Arts Office Review and which have been presented to the Recreation and Heritage Policy Review Committee.

        · Develop its strategic role in contributing to County Council work and commitment to arts related policy and issues.

        · Maximise new opportunities to support and develop action in direct support of corporate and departmental objectives.

2.2 The Review supports the Corporate Strategy, Aim 5 of improving services.

3.1 Not to respond to the key strategic recommendations emerging from the report.
