Hampshire County Council Health Review Committee Item 8 25 January 2005 Health Review Progress Report Report of the Chief Executive |
Contact : Penny Velander, Health Review Officer, Ext 7479, [email protected]
1. Summary
1.1. At the 30 November 2004 meeting the Committee received and approved the draft reports for the following two health reviews
· Access to Therapy Services for Children in School and Pre-school
· Access to Podiatry Services for People with Diabetes
It was agreed that the draft reports would be sent out with a deadline for response set for 7 January 2005
1.2. On 1 December the draft reports and covering letter from Cllr Ellis were distributed to agencies maintaining an interest in therapy and podiatry services. The letter requested responses to the reports and clearly stated the deadline. Despite an electronic reminder being sent on 4 January a number of agencies failed to respond by 7 January.
1.3. A further letter was sent from Cllr Ellis on 12 January highlighting the statutory 28 days response period for health services. Copies were sent to Richard Samuel at the Strategic Health Authority
1.4 It was the intention of the review working groups to collate responses, update the drafts and present the final reports to Committee at this meeting. Unfortunately, due to the poor response rate, this could not be achieved.
1.5 This report, therefore, is to provide Committee with an update on progress. The final review papers will now be presented at the next Committee meeting on 29 March.
