1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
1. That authority be given to the Director of Social Services to negotiate a single tender for domiciliary care services in the Eastleigh/Romsey area.
2. Reason
This proposal will give security of service both to older people to enable them to remain at home and to the service provider to allow them to plan for the future to meet the County Council's requirements.
This proposal supports Aim 1 of the Corporate Strategy `Maximising Life Opportunities'. The partnership approach with care providers assists with Aim 3 `Achieving Economic Prosperity' and the focus on quality and cost contributes to Aim 5 `Improving Services'.

Tendering considered but rejected in the light of the outcome of the recent tender invitations for domiciliary care services in the area.
