THE SUNDRIDGE SCHOOL, COWPLAIN - ENLARGEMENT AND TRANSFER TO NEW SITE

1. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 31(1) (b) of the School

    Standards and Framework Act 1998, that Hampshire County Council, being the Local Education Authority, intends to make prescribed alterations to

    The Sundridge School, Silvester Road, Cowplain, by enlarging the school and transferring it to a new site at Woolston Road, Leigh Park, Havant, with effect from 1 November 2005.

2. The school is currently recognised to cater for 28 boys aged 11 to 16 with emotional and behavioural difficulties and had 33 pupils on roll in January 2003. It is proposed that new premises for the school should be built on a site at Woolston Road, Leigh Park, providing 49 places for boys aged 11 to 16 with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and that the school should transfer to these new premises during the Autumn Term 2005.

4. Any person may object to, or comment on, these proposals within the period of two months from the date of publication of this notice. Objections or comments should be in writing and addressed to The Chief Executive (reference "HW"), Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, Hampshire SO23 8UJ, to arrive no later than 5 p.m. on 26th March 2004. Any objections or comments received, and not subsequently withdrawn in writing, will be submitted by the local education authority to the School Organisation Committee for Hampshire within one month of the closing date for representations.
