JOHN HUNT OF EVEREST COMMUNITY SCHOOL
TRANSFER TO A NEW SITE
1. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 28(1) of the School
Standards and Framework Act 1998, that Hampshire County Council, being the Local Education Authority, intends to make a prescribed alteration to John Hunt of Everest Community School, Popley Way, Basingstoke by transferring the school to a new site, with effect from 1 September 2006.
2. In order to achieve this intention it is proposed that the school will transfer to new premises on a site within the new housing development North of Popley Way. The number of pupils to be admitted to the school at the age of 11, in the school year 2006/07 and subsequent years, will be 150.
3. The Local Education Authority is the admission authority for the school. Pupils will be admitted to the school in accordance with the arrangements that are published each year prior to the date on which applications for admission must be made. Transport to the school will be provided for pupils who qualify in accordance with the Local Education Authority's published policy.
4. Any person may object to, or comment on, these proposals within the period of one month from the date of publication of this notice. Objections or comments should be in writing and addressed to Ian Lawson, Strategic Planning Unit, Education Department, Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, Hampshire SO23 8UG, to arrive no later than 5 p.m. on
4 October 2004. Any objections or comments received, and not subsequently withdrawn in writing, together with the Local Education Authority's observations on them, will be submitted to the School Organisation Committee for Hampshire within two weeks after the closing date for objections.
