Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Policy and Resources approves the design project appraisal for Crestwood Community School at an estimated cost of up to £3,193,127, excluding fees.

Reason(s)

2.1

The proposal to provide a purpose-built Sports Hall, changing facilities, drama studio and fitness suite will be of immediate benefit to pupils and teachers at the school. The local community will also benefit through use of the proposed facilities. The proposal supports both Corporate Aims 1 and 5 by maximising life opportunities and improving services.

3.1

The need for the facilities provided by this scheme has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
