Summary

   

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

   

1.1

That Woodend/Copsehill, Andover be declared surplus to County Council requirements.

   

1.2

That Social Services be permitted to retain 100% of the net sale proceeds to support existing Social Services capital investment objectives.

Reason(s)

   

2.1

The existing premises are underused (Woodend is currently vacant) and are no longer required for social care purposes. The Executive Member for Social Care has decided that they are both surplus to Social Services operational requirements, and no other County Council use has been identified.

   

2.2

This decision supports the following Aims of the Corporate Strategy

   
 

Aim 1 - Maximising life opportunities by funding improvements to social care provision.

   
 

Aim 2 - Stewardship of the environment by requiring a high quality redevelopment of the site.

   
 

Aim 5 - Improving services by disposing of underused premises and using the funding to provide better services more efficiently.
