1. Summary

1.1. The following decision is sought.

To appoint Councillor J Waddington as a Foundation Governor to the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Trust Unit until the annual meeting of the County Council in May 2005.

2. Reason

The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Trust has invited the County Council, as a valued partner and stakeholder organisation, to appoint a member as a Foundation Governor to the Trust.

3. Other Options considered and Rejected

To appoint a member of the Health Review Committee as a Foundation Governor. This was rejected by the Trust as their constitution did not allow a serving Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee Member to be appointed.
