The IRTEC Licensing Scheme is a voluntary scheme that tests the competence of technicians and mechanics against a modern quality standard that satisfies the European Standard EN45013.

The IRTEC Licence is designed to indicate current competence, and complements most static national qualifications within this area.

To earn the Licence you must pass a series of practical tests and a theory paper developed and validated by industry. These are designed to cover all working aspects of the industry concentrating in particular on safety critical elements and fault diagnosis. The theoretical component of the Licence is based on UK Vehicle legislation but can easily be adapted to local needs (other countries).

· Successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement detailing all areas the candidate has shown proven competence in.

· Candidates who successfully pass all the practical modules and the theory test will earn the full IRTEC license valid for five years, after which they will require re-assessment.

The tests are continuously being looked at to ensure that they include the most up to date techniques and technology; meeting the rapidly changing demands in industry. The scheme is designed to establish an ethos of CPD (Continued Professional Development) within the industry.

What you need to do?

We currently operate Heavy Vehicle, Light Commercial Vehicle, Light/Heavy Commercial Vehicle and Bus & Coach tests at one of an expanding network of accredited Assessment Centres nation-wide.

Price:

· £280 For a days practical testing - and theory exam. (not including VAT)

· Achievement Certificate and IRTEC Badge License awarded to successful candidates.

On Site Assessments

We can also arrange On Site Assessments, but these will be subject to additional

arrangement and administrative costs.

Please contact us to book a place on a test day at one of the many available IRTEC Centres.

Companies wishing to book in ten candidates on any one day can request additional test dates.

IMPORTANT !

This is a test of competence and not a course! Preparation may be needed in particular for the Theory paper.
