Secondary Schools

Comments

Brookfield

Priority to children living in Warsash to the south of the school. This means that these pupils do not have to go past Brookfield on their way to an alternative school.

Cranbourne

Distance measurement to the bus stop for `detached' catchment area. This criterion is intended to avoid a situation where children in the detached area will always be at a disadvantage if distance from the school is used to determine priority.

Hayling

In-catchment priority to applicants furthest from Langstone Bridge. Hayling School is in the northern part of Hayling. This criterion means that, if there is oversubscription, those living nearest the mainland bridge will also live nearest alternative schools.

Hounsdown

Priority to catchment west of A326. This means that those catchment area pupils living in the New Forest some distance from the school have priority over those who live nearer to Hounsdown but who also live nearer to an alternative school.

Priestlands

Out-catchment distances measured to catchment area boundary. This criterion ensures that those who live furthest from the school and also furthest from alternative schools will be given priority.

Vyne

Distance measurement for `detached' catchment area. (See Cranbourne above.)
