Contact: Nicola Horsey, ext. 5423 e-mail: [email protected]

1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That amh is restructured in response to the opportunity for amh to take on a wider regional remit.

2. Reason

2.1 Arts Council England South East (ACE,SE) wish to commission amh to devise and manage a strategic audience development service for the South East region. This will require an additional, enhanced post.

2.2 This proposal supports Corporate Aims (3, 5 and 6) of the Corporate Strategy (Achieving Economic Prosperity, Improving Services and Developing Councillors and Staff) by bringing in a substantially increased grant from Arts Council England, delivering a greater range of support services for Recreation and Heritage, and further developing skills and specialisms within the current amh team, which will also be available to the Arts Service and wider Recreation and Heritage Department.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected

3.1 To refuse the wider regional remit; rejected, as the regional role will enhance services available to the County Council and increase the regional profile of Hampshire's cultural services.

4. Conflicts of Interest Declared by the Decision Maker or other Executive Member Consulted

    None.

5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee

    Not applicable.

6. Reason(s) for the Matter being dealt with if Urgent - Timescale suggested by other funding body.
