2. Route 1 Quality Bus Partnership between Aldershot and Camberley
2.1 This Quality Bus Partnership continues to be successful in attracting more passengers. Between November 2004 and January 2005, 17% more journeys were made on route 1 than during the corresponding period 12 months earlier. Work to improve the remaining bus stops between Farnborough Technical College and Aldershot town centre commenced in February. The improvements comprise bus stop clearways, new bus shelters, bus stop poles with information provision and raised boarding kerbs. The impact and effectiveness of the scheme will be fully reviewed during the spring and summer of 2005.

The scheme is part of a proposed Quality Bus Partnership which will feature raised boarding kerbs, bus stop clearways to deter inconsiderate parking, new bus shelters, bus stop poles and Real-Time Information. Further funding is available for 2005/06 to further improve facilities on this route.
