ARTS DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP FUNDING 2005/06

1. The Executive Member has received details of applications received for project partnership funding from groups planning to organise arts projects for Hampshire residents. In addition to straightforward grants, the County Council also runs the Two for One Award Scheme which is a very successful initiative that fosters a positive relationship between business and the arts as well as making the grant funding stretch further. The scheme works by matching new sponsorships valued between £200 and £500 and provides a useful incentive to arts organisations to find more sponsors. In addition it encourages more local businesses to sponsor the arts in Hampshire.

2. The Executive Member has approved the allocation of £21,550 in grants to 18 applicants, together with £1,900 on five Two for One Schemes and £6,700 on three Festivals. The £21,550 was awarded to a wide variety of projects ranging from, for example, the Petersfield Artist Trail to a Lymington Choral Society concert.
