PART II

LOCAL TRANSPORT PLAN 2005/06 - 2010/11 : THE INTEGRATION OF COUNTRYSIDE ACCESS PLANS

1. The County Council has responded to the new duty to provide a Rights of Way Improvement Plan by preparing Countryside Access Plans for the county. In 2002 the Government issued guidance stating that the Rights of Way Improvement Plan must form a "distinct strand" of the Local Transport Plan (LTP). These documents have to be in accordance with guidance issued by Government and also reflect the County Council's corporate aims.

2. The Executive Member has endorsed, where possible, the integration of the Countryside Access Plans into Local Transport Plans as a means of ensuring funding is made available to deliver those actions in the Countryside Access Plan which are in accordance with the aims and objectives of the key themes in the LTP.
