Disability Discrimination Act Access Audits and Improvements Strategy

Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

(a) that progress on the strategy be endorsed, and that annual funding from the Policy and Resources capital repairs budget continues in 2005/06;

(b) that access audits be included in the new Service Level Agreement operational from April 2007;

(c) that planning for Phase 3 commences in 2005/06, and funding implications of this phase be considered at a future meeting of the Buildings Land and Procurement Panel.

Reason(s)

2.1

To ensure that suitable arrangements are in placed to meet DDA legislation.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1, 3 5 and 6 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved access to County Council services and buildings.
