Summary

   

1.1

The Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel advises the Executive Member (Policy & Resources) that authority should be given to:

   
 

i) The disposal of approximately 0.41 hectares (1.02 acres) of land at the rear of Palmerston House, Botley Road, Romsey on the basis set out in the report; and

   
 

ii) The Director of Property Business and Regulatory Services (Head of Estates Practice) to settle the detailed terms and conditions of sale.

Reason

   

2.1

The proposal will see the site developed in an manner which will improve opportunities for disabled people in Hampshire whilst securing a high capital receipt for the County Council.

   

2.2

This decision supports the following Aims of the Corporate Strategy:

   
 

Aim 1 - Maximising life opportunities by improving the opportunities for disabled persons and enabling them to have the specialist assistance required to achieve their changing aspirations and ambitions.

   
 

Aim 2 - Stewardship of the environment by restoring an unused brownfield site into a new and productive use.

   
 

Aim 4 - Building strong and safe communities by working with a national charity to enable care facilities to be provided in a safe and secure environment.
