Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That subject to carrying forward £117,000, excluding fees, to the 2005/06 Education Capital Programme, the design project appraisal at the Mountbatten School and Language College, at an estimated cost of £448,000, excluding fees, be approved.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide necessary staff room space to allow teaching staff to properly plan and prepare work and resources to meet the needs of the pupils. Also to provide a new entrance, office, inclusion room, multi-agency/meeting room and refurbished toilet area.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved school facilities which will benefit the school and its users.

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
