Fire Safety Policy in the Built Estate - Annual Review

Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

a) that progress on the management of the fire precautions in the built estate is endorsed;

b) that a report on the outcome of the structural fire precaution surveys in the Elderly Persons' Homes and `other residential' properties, along with a strategy to address the emerging issues is presented to the Buildings Land and Procurement Panel (BLPP) in June 2005;

c) that formal partnership agreement between Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and the County Council be presented to BLPP at a future meeting.

Reason(s)

2.1

To enable further progress to be made to determine future issues and pressures on fire safety in the built estate.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 2 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by confirming arrangements to identify those buildings as high priority for fire precaution improvements.
