1. Summary
1.1 The following decision is sought:
That the proposed allocation of the £150,000 Local Transport Plan Monitoring/Initiatives element of the transport capital programme for 2005/06, as set out below, be approved:
Local Transport Plan Monitoring £70,000
Business Travel Plan Partnership £50,000
Other small scale Local Transport Plan Initiatives £30,000.
1.2 The budget is provisionally allocated to projects pending consideration of alternatives to achieve 2.5% efficiency savings on all projects and programmes, work with the local community and more detailed design work.
2. Reason
2.1 This decision supports the following Aims of the Corporate Strategy:
(i) Aim 2 (Stewardship of the Environment) - the Business Travel Plan Partnership and other small scale Local Transport Plan initiatives allocations will result in the introduction of measures to encourage use of sustainable travel modes; and
(ii) Aim 3 (Assisting Economic Prosperity) - the projects delivered through the Business Travel Plan Partnership will widen travel choice for staff and visitors to those businesses receiving the grant thereby increasing their attractiveness.
