1. Summary

1.1 The attached appendices provide an update on the progress of County Council and minerals and waste development applications, planning/ enforcement appeals and notice of permissions about to expire.

1.2 Table 1 below illustrates the performance of the County Council in determining mineral and waste planning applications. The target Best Value Performance Indicator (BVPI) for the County Council is 60% within 13 weeks. This target has been consistently achieved during each quarter of 2004. Overall for 2004/5, 69% of applications are determined within 13 weeks.

1.3 Table 2 illustrates the County Council's performance in determining minor applications relating to its own development. There is no BVPI for the County Council for this type of development. However the overall performance for 2004/5 is 69% determined within eight weeks.
