HAMPSHIRE STRUCTURE PLAN : POLICY H4 MONITORING REPORT 2005

1. The latest recommendations of the Strategic Planning Joint Advisory Panel (SPJAP) regarding the Hampshire County Structure Plan : Policy H4 Monitoring Report 2005 have been agreed by the Executive Member on behalf of the County Council.

2. The Monitoring Report on house building in Hampshire was published for consultation in
December 2004 and was sent out to organisations representing a wide variety of interests, such as local authorities, parish councils, developers and conservation groups. The report concluded that there was no case for triggering the release of any of the reserve provision in 2005/06. In line with the SPJAP recommendation to all local planning authorities, the County Council has agreed to continue to take proactive steps to manage housing land supply to meet its Structure Plan baseline housing requirement. The County Council has also now received a letter from the Minister, approving its response and praising the quality of its monitoring process. The Minister has also asked the County Council to continue to operate this monitoring process on the Structure Plan Policy H4 and to report back to him again in 2006.
