1. Appointment of Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of Committees

1.1 Standing Order 34 (b) requires the Council, at its Annual Meeting, to appoint the Chairman and a Vice-Chairman for every committee of the Council, all of whom shall be members of the Council. The Council has previously made appointments to the following, to which the chairmanship of the River Hamble Harbour Board has been added (see Item 15)

1.2 Nominations are invited:-

Education Policy Review Committee

Environment Policy Review Committee

Recreation and Heritage Policy Review Committee

Social Care Policy Review Committee

Health Review Committee

Governance Committee

Standards Committee

Employment in Hampshire County Council Committee

Pension Fund Panel

Regulatory Committee

River Hamble Harbour Board

River Hamble Harbour Management Committee

Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel

Statement of Accounts Panel

Solent Transport Strategy Panel

New Forest Transportation Strategy Panel

North Hampshire Transport Strategy Panel

Central Hampshire Transport Strategy Panel

South Hampshire Rapid Transit Procurement Panel

Gosport Peninsula Access Panel

Special Educational Needs Panel

Schools Monitoring Panel

Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education

Youth Panel

1.3 The Health Review Committee has requested that it be called the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

1.4 The local highway advisory panels for each district are currently chaired by the nominee of the Executive Member for Environment in the south and east and by the nominee of the Executive Member for Spatial Strategy in the north and west.

RECOMMENDATION:

That Chairmen and Vice Chairmen be appointed where considered necessary and that the Health Review Committee be named the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee
