Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Education advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that approval be given to the design project appraisal for the works at The Toynbee School at an estimated cost of up to £483,000, excluding fees.

Reason(s)

2.1

To provide a multi-purpose space for physical education purposes for use by both the school and the local community.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 1 and 5 of the Corporate Strategy by providing improved facilities for all users of the school.

3.1

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the design project appraisal are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
