1.1 |
The following decisions are sought: | |
That approval be given to: | ||
i) |
declare 0.4ha of land at the Swanwick Lodge Secure Unit site surplus to County Council requirements to allow it to be sold for residential development as set out in the report; and | |
ii) |
that up to 100% of the sale proceeds be retained to finance demolition of the redundant residential blocks and necessary reinstatement on the Swanwick Lodge site, together with associated alterations and improvements to the Secure Unit. | |

2.1 |
To facilitate demolition of three redundant residential blocks, and to fund improvements to the Swanwick Lodge Secure Unit. | |

This decision supports the following Aims of the Corporate Strategy | |
Aim 2 - Stewardship of the environment by ensuring that the development scheme for the surplus land is of a good standard of built design and landscape treatment. | ||
Aim 5 - Improving services by providing funding to remove redundant buildings linked to Swanwick Lodge Secure Children's Unit, provide improved joint use holding area to enable the counselling of discharged residents separate from the Secure Unit accommodation, and provide a more satisfactory and secure perimeter to the Secure Unit. | ||
