1. Summary

1.1 At the May 2004 County Council meeting it was agreed that in future all items in the Forward Plan would be considered by the appropriate Policy Review Committee before consideration by the Cabinet or individual Executive Members. Key decisions on which the Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel currently advised the Leader would be excluded. This report presents for Members' consideration and information an item to be considered by Cabinet on 27 June 2005.

2. The attached report describes the background to the production of the Local Transport Plan 2006-11 and requests that Cabinet recommends the County Council to approve the provisional document. A Local Transport Plan is essentially a Statement of Transport Policy and a five year programme of local transport action (management, investment and improvements) together with a series of targets that these actions would help to achieve.

Recommendation

That the Committee be invited to consider this report and offer any comments which it believes the Cabinet should take into account in recommending the County Council to approve the provisional Local Transport Plan 2006-11.
