1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

    That authority be given to the Director of Social Services to negotiate a single
    tender for the provision of Day for Older People in the Eastleigh Area.

2. Reason

    This proposal will give respite to carers and allow frail, elderly people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

    The service supports Aim 1 of the Corporate Strategy "Maximising Life Opportunities". The partnership approach with care providers assists with Aim 3 "Achieving Economic Prosperity" and the focus on quality and cost contributes to Aim 5 "Improving Services".
