1. Summary

1.1 The following decision was sought:

    That the following RECOMMENDATIONS be submitted to the County Council

      a) That the Hampshire Minerals and Waste Development Scheme approved on 25 November 2004 should come into effect on 21 July 2005.

      b) That the Director of Environment be authorised, in consultation with the Executive Member for Environment: North Hampshire and Spatial Strategy, to amend the Scheme in future as circumstances require.

2. Reason

2.1 This decision supports Aim 2 (Stewardship of the Environment) of the Corporate Strategy by setting out the Council's work programme for preparing Mineral and Waste Development Documents under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected

3.1 No other options to (i) were considered as this is a legal requirement under the relevant Planning Regulations.

3.2 With regard to (ii) the option of referring changes to the Development Scheme back to the County Council was considered but rejected in the interests of administrative efficiency.
