New Deals for Schools Condition programme 2005/6 |
| |
|
2.1 |
The NDS Condition programmes for 2005/6 were considered by BLPP and approved by the Leader on 14 April 2005 respectively. Following the review of a number of schemes it is necessary to make some changes to the allocation of funds. The following changes are now proposed: · Richard Aldworth - replacement of underground heating mains following major water leak £75,000 · Waterside Primary School - replacement windows £224,000 (to be taken from the £1m contribution towards capital projects previously agreed by the Panel) · Increase block allowance for hard landscaping schemes by £118,000 · Oakley Junior School - recladding project, increase allocation to £70,000 |

Office Accommodation Projects - Procurement Route |
| |
|
4.1 |
Members will be aware that it is proposed to remodel and refurbish the former Intech building as part of the policy of reducing our dependency on relatively high cost leased accommodation. In this particular case it is proposed to vacate the leased premises at Parkway Fareham (or at the very least ensure that the occupants meet the full rental and running costs) and refurbish Intech. |
| |
|
4.2 |
So far the Panel has approved a first phase up to £300,000. A second phase to the value of £400,000 is planned. It will probably be more cost effective to get the whole project developed as one package. The funding for the second phase will therefore be considered at a future meeting. |

Recommendation(s) |
| |
|
| |
That the Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that approval be given to: |
| |
|
| |
1. The additional NDS allocations as detailed in paragraph 2.1. |
| |
|
| |
2. The capital repairs allocations in paragraph 3.1 |
| |
|
| |
3. Procuring the refurbishment of the former Intech building as one package and seeking further approvals to fund phase II at a subsequent meeting. |
