1. Summary
1.1 The purpose of this report is to provide an update of the progress made in implementing those schemes in the Education Capital Programme with a value of between £43,000 and £216,000 (exclusive of fees).
2. Current Position
2.1 The attached tables summarise the current position in relation to schemes funded by the Education 2003/04 and 2004/05 Capital Programme including Minor Works, Seed Challenge, William Price Trust, Schools Access Initiative (SAI), New Opportunities Fund (NOF) and Staff Workplaces budget. The tables provide details of the funding, a brief description of the works and a summary of the current position.
3. Education Minor Works 2005/06
3.1 Grange Junior School
This school has been allocated £20,000, excluding fees, from the Education 2005/06 Capital Programme under Management of Falling Rolls.
It is proposed that the funding, together with a contribution from the School of £58,621, excluding fees, will be used to provide an ITC Suite and Porch extension.
It is proposed to go out to tender during June 2005 with an estimated start date of July 2005 with completion anticipated in September 2005.
4. Education - Staff Workplaces 2005/6
4.1 Itchen Abbas Primary School, Winchester
This school has been allocated £43,104, excluding fees, from the Education 2005/06 Capital Programme under Staff Workforce Remodelling.
It is proposed that the funding, together with a contribution from the School of £73,276, excluding fees, and £17,242, excluding fees, from the Education School Security budget will be used to relocate the administration and Headteacher's office providing improved security and working facilities.
It is proposed to go out to tender during September 2005 with an estimated start date of October 2005 with completion anticipated in January 2006.
Recommendation
1. That the changes to the minor works programme be approved.
