1 Summary

1.1 The following decisions are sought:

1. That the approach to filling the budget `gap' be approved

2. That the business case for the additional growth money for the Youth Service be submitted to Cabinet for approval.

3. That the budget monitoring report and an early identification of costs pressures is noted.

2.1 To approve the budget strategy for filling the `gap' for 2005/06 and to submit the Youth Service business case on use of the additional resources to Cabinet for approval.

2.2 Decisions on (Education service) revenue, expenditure and capital programmes impact on the financial resources available to this service to contribute to the following corporate strategy aims:

· maximising life opportunities

· achieving economic prosperity

· improving services
