Corporate Procurement - Progress Report

Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given to:

(i) the progress being made to embedding procurement efficiencies in the 2005/06 budget;

(ii) a further report being produced for the Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel on how procurement efficiencies could be realised in 2006/07 and 2007/08.

(iii) The Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services being authorised to conclude new contract arrangements for the supply of electricity to a range of large sites commencing November 2005.

Reason(s)

2.1

To enable continuing progress to be made on corporate procurement initiatives across the County council and to meet the efficiency agenda created through Gershon.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 5 and 6 of the Corporate Strategy by promoting a strategic approach to procurement and developing procurement skills and capacity within the authority.
