Summary

   

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

   
 

That approval be given to:

 

(i) further work being completed to develop efficiency savings from construction procurement and a further report being presented to the Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel (BLPP);

(ii) the procurement development proposals set out in Section 3 of the report to BLPP on 30 June 2005 relating to:

 

    · framework arrangements development for small to medium enterprises (SMEs);

    · the extension of the existing Term Engineering Contracts;

    · pilot arrangements for asbestos repair and removal;

    · pilot arrangements for reactive maintenance;

(iii) the procurement initiatives referred to in Appendix 1 of the report to BLPP on 30 June 2005 relating to:

 

    · South Baddesley Primary School;

    · Parsonage Farm library extension;

    · Hart Plain Infant and Junior School;

    · Waterside Primary School.

Reason(s)

2.1

To identify potential efficiency savings from construction procurement and enable a range of projects and framework arrangements to proceed.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 3, 5 and 6 of the Corporate Strategy by encouraging and developing the use of local resources, by working with and in collaboration with the construction industry to ensure continuous improvement in our services, and developing the procurement skills of staff.
