1 Summary

Applications have been received from young people in Hampshire undertaking expeditions, overseas projects, personal development, etc. These grants, if awarded, would support Aim 1 of the Corporate Strategy by maximising life opportunities. Applicants' details are as follows:-

1.1 Simone Paulson, Brockenhurst and Rebecca Ings, Fordingbridge

Simone and Rebecca have both been selected to attend an International Guide Camp "Skogsroj 05" in Sweden this summer where they will join up with 4,500 guides from 24 different countries around the world. They will take part in various activities including climbing, canoeing and sailing in forests of the Gullmars nature reserve. Each guide is expected to raise £650 towards their costs.

Recommendation: £150 each

1.2 Elizabeth Heib, Chandlers Ford

Elizabeth is currently a guide from 1st Chandlers Ford Guide Group and as such has been selected to take part in an international guide trip to Thailand this August. She will be going got two weeks during which time she will be travelling to carry out voluntary work in an orphanage and school. The cost of this trip is £1,400 and Elizabeth has managed to raise most the this money but believes she is unable to reach this target without help.

Recommendation: £150
