Summary | |
1.1 |
The Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel advises the Executive Member (Policy and Resources) that authority should be given to: | |
i) |
Authority be given for the disposal of 1.44 hectares (3.56 acres) of land at Canal Walk, Romsey for residential development to the selected purchaser, , subject to detailed planning permission being granted for a development based on the scheme approved; | |
ii) |
The Director of Property Business & Regulatory Services (Head of Estates Practice) be authorised to settle the detailed terms and conditions of the sale, including such adjustment to the purchase price that may be agreed following minor amendments to the scheme. | |

Reason(s) | |
2.1 |
To secure a high quality of residential development and design and achieve strong financial offers in order to make a substantial contribution towards the 2005/6 Capital Receipts Programme. | |

This decision supports the following Aims of the Corporate Strategy | |
Aim 2 - Stewardship of the environment - the proposed scheme of development will continue the high quality of design achieved elsewhere within the County Council`s development in the area. | ||
Aim 3 - Achieving economic prosperity - the proposed development will provide a mix of housing types in terms of both tenure and size to meet the demands of the local housing market. | ||
Aim 4 - Building strong and safe communities - the proposed development, given its range of housing type and tenure, will allow for a balanced community to develop as part of this neighbourhood. | ||
