Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

i)

That the Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services (Head of Estates Practice) be authorised to negotiate terms for and complete the purchase of Capital House, Andover Road, Winchester for the purpose of accommodating staff during the Ashburton Court refurbishment project.

Reason

2.1

This decision supports the following Aim of the Corporate Strategy

Aim 5 - Improving services by ensuring the County Council's provision of excellent services is maintained during the major works to one of its core headquarters' buildings.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

Two other options have been considered:

· the erection of temporary buildings on County Council owned land, and

· the renting of suitable office accommodation in the market.

Both these options are more expensive than the solution proposed.
