Financial and Performance Monitoring 2005/06

1 Summary

1.1 This report presents a brief update on the current financial situation for the Recreation and Heritage Department for 2005/06 and proposes the approach to be taken for monitoring the revenue budget and capital programme.

1.2 The following decisions are sought:

    i) that the current financial situation is noted.

    ii) that the action taken to achieve the annual savings requirement as outlined in the report is approved.

    iii) that the transfer from revenue to capital of £198,000 for the library refurbishment programme be approved.

    iv) that the approach to monitoring the budget and performance outlined in the report is endorsed.

    v) that the allocation of the capital programme as outlined in the report be approved.

2 Reason(s)

2.1 Regular budget monitoring reports are submitted to the Executive Member throughout the year. The purpose of this initial 2005/06 report is to confirm that plans are in place to achieve the savings target in the budget, to agree the allocation of the capital programme and to agree a framework for future monitoring.
