Financial Assistance to Voluntary Organisations and other Bodies - Beaulieu Abbey Church

1. Summary

The following decision is sought:

That a contribution of £1,500 towards urgent repairs to the war memorial at Beaulieu Abbey Church be made from the Policy and Resources budget.

2. Reason

2.1 The church is in need of repair and refurbishment in order to protect and preserve the fabric of this Grade I listed building.

2.2 The contribution will support Corporate Aim 1 (Maximising life opportunities) and Aim 4 (Building stronger and safer communities) by ensuring the preservation of community assets.

3. Other options considered and rejected

Providing no funding.

4. Conflicts of interest declared by the decision maker or other Executive Member consulted - The application is from within the electoral ward of the Executive Member for Policy and Resources.
