Hampshire Rugby Football Union for Women

Hampshire Rugby Football Union for Women (RFUW) have been very active and successful with the development of girls rugby within the Active Sports programme, a national programme that is partnership funded. The RFUW have recognised that plans now need to be put in place to enable these young women to continue their participation beyond Active Sports. A strategic plan has been developed in consultation with clubs and partnership funding to implement the plan is now sought.

This partnership funding will enable the RFUW to provide taster days at clubs for senior players, specialist coaching sessions for front row and backs, safety in contact course, holiday schemes to recruit women, a high performance academy and specialist coaching and information evenings for representative players. Funding to deliver the rest of the plan is being provided via the Active Sports programme.
