2. Reason

2.1 This decision supports Aims 2, 3, 4 and 5 (Stewardship of the Environment; Achieving Economic Prosperity; Building Strong and Safe Communities; and Improving Services) of the Corporate Strategy by enhancing facilities at stations to improve the journey experience and providing a better quality of service for rail passengers.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected

3.1 The `do nothing' option was rejected as inappropriate since to maintain the status quo would lead to rail becoming less competitive as standards rise elsewhere.

4. Conflicts of Interest Declared by the Decision Maker or Other Executive Member Consulted - None.

5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - Not applicable.

6. Reason(s) for the Matter being dealt with if Urgent - Not applicable.
