5. PROGRESS REPORT ON THE ACTIONS TAKEN TO MEET THE RECOMMENDATIONS MADE IN THE PREVIOUS BEST VALUE REVIEW OF PROCUREMENT (Report herewith)

To consider the report of the Chief Officer detailing progress on the actions taken to meet the recommendations made in the previously conducted Best Value Review of Procurement.

6. PROGRESS REPORT ON THE BEST VALUE REVIEW OF VEHICLE WORKSHOPS (Report herewith).

    To consider the report of the Chief Officer detailing the outcomes and recommendations of the Best Value Review of Vehicle Workshops.

7. BEST VALUE PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (BVPI) AND LOCAL PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (LPI) (Report herewith)

    To consider the report of the Chief Officer containing highlights of the performance indicators data for the first quarter of 2005/06, focussing on those indicators considered to be more strategic.

8. RECOMMENDATIONS AND ACTIONS ARISING FROM INTERNAL AUDIT REPORTS (Report herewith)

    To consider the report of the Chief Officer detailing the monitoring report for ongoing actions.

9. BEST VALUE REVIEWS 2005/06

    Nominations are sought for the appointment of two members to each of the steering groups for the two reviews to be undertaken this year. A Principal Officer and an officer from the Performance Review Team will also be appointed to each of the steering groups. The reviews will be carried out with the assistance of external consultants. Proposals are expected from four consultancy firms that have expressed an interest in carrying out the work.

    (i) Review of Partnership Arrangements

    Purpose: Examine the effectiveness of current partnership arrangements and make recommendations on how these could be improved to help fulfill the Authority's corporate aims.

    (ii) Review of Service Level Agreements with Hampshire County Council

    Purpose: Examine the effectiveness and value for money of the Authority's current contracts for services and service level agreements with Hampshire County Council. Identify how the arrangements to deliver these support services might be improved in the future.

    Note: for this review it is suggested that at least one of the members is not a member of Hampshire County Council.
