1 Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That authority be given to the Director of Adult Services to invite tenders for the provision for day services for Older People in the New Forest and to extend existing contracts for such services for a further period of 6 months as required.

2 Reason

The commissioning of day services for older people will maximise life opportunities for frail and vulnerable people (Aim 1). The support service providers accords with achieving economic prosperity (Aim 2). Providing services which are responsive to changing needs and which are part of a network of services to support frail older people in the community assists with building strong and safe communities (Aim 3) and improving services (Aim 5).

Single tender negotiation is considered inappropriate because of scale of changes to the service.
