1 Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That authority be given to the Director of Adult Services to negotiate single tenders for the provision for nursing home beds in North Hampshire and the New Forest.

2 Reason

This proposal will give security of service to the Department and access to nursing beds in areas of scarce capacity at an affordable price.

Security of service and access to capacity supports Aim 1 of the corporate Strategy `Maximising Life Opportunities'. The partnership approach with care providers assists with Aim 3 `Achieving Economic Prosperity' and the focus on quality and cost contributes to Aim 5 `Improving Services'.
