Summary

   

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

   
 

That approval be given to:

1 The procurement initiatives that have been implemented this year as set out in Appendix 2.

2 The proposed procurement initiatives set out in Appendix 3 relating to:

    · Former Intech Building, Winchester - refurbishment

    · Fire Alarm and emergency lighting at older persons homes

    · Portchester School - improvements

    · Park Community School - response following major flooding

    · Froxfield Infant School - provision of additional accommodation

    · The Rookwood Centre - phase II alterations and improvements

    · North Popley - archaeological investigation and strategic planting

    · Curdridge Primary School - Extension

    · Trosnant Infant School - Extension

    · Wildern School - Virtual Learning Centre

    · SCOLA Masonry Wall Repairs

    · Milestones Museum - extension of maintenance contract

    · Second Framework - tendering arrangements adjusted

3 The extension of the Second `Hampshire' Framework to allow for the participation of other SECE authorities.

4 Issuing contract notices on behalf of the South East Centre of Excellence.

Reason(s)

2.1

To progress a number of building projects through a range of procurement initiatives.

2.2

This decision supports Aims 2, 3, 5 and 6 - stewardship of the environment; achieving economic prosperity; improving services and developing councillors and staff - of the Corporate Strategy by considering whole life costs and working closely with partners to eliminate waste to develop more sustainable solutions; by encouraging and developing the use of local resources thereby contributing to the local economy; by working and collaborating with the industry, which is instrumental in driving continuous improvement into our services and by developing procurement skills and competencies of staff.
